Work To Begin On New Bridge For Springdale Road

Visitors travelling between Esperance and Hopetoun are encouraged to use Jerdacuttup Road (sealed) to avoid lengthy detours as a result of the closure to a section of Springdale Road for upgrade works.

Main Roads WA has confirmed to the Shire of Ravensthorpe that construction work for the much anticipated new bridge on Springdale Road will commence on Tuesday 6 June 2023, the day after the WA Day public holiday.

The work consists of a new concrete bridge over Jerdacuttup River located on Springdale Road, east of Orchid Road.

While Main Roads WA are undertaking this work Springdale Road will remain closed between Orchid Road and Mary’s Road with signed detours in place. 

Main Roads WA have advised this work is expected to be completed in March 2024.
