The wait is almost over, and we now have a date when campsites will be released for general bookings for Starvation Bay and Mason Bay campgrounds. Bookings can be made just after midnight early Saturday morning, 4th October 2025.

If you're new to the booking process, you will need to go to our booking portal SpacetoCo to book online. The following link will take you directly to their site: SpacetoCo - Campground Booking. You will need to create a login account if making a booking for the first time or if you already have an account, simply login . If trying to determine what sites are still available, we recommend checking the availability calendar after 22nd September when it will be easier to work out which sites are available (see tips below).

Please note that we anticipate that demand for campsites at our popular coastal campgrounds will be high when the bookings open, which may cause the system to run slower than normal, so please be patient. Here are some tips to help improve your chances for a successful booking.

📌TIPS

✅As we are still in our Stage One priority booking period it's difficult to determine which sites are still available and we recommend waiting until we change over to the Stage two priority booking period, which is from 22 September to 3 October 2025.

From 22 September, if searching for campsites between the dates of 19 December to 1 February, if the dates you are seeking shows a blue lock symbol  eg it means that the site is still available and only locked for the priority period. However, if you see a red circle with a line through it, eg   it means the site has been booked. Searching prior to the 22 September will not give you an accurate indication on availability.

✅ Another tip when searching on the availability calendar, is to only enter your start date as this will show you all the sites that are still available. If you enter the exact dates and if there is not an exact match, the system will show that nothing is available.  For example; if you select a 7 night stay and even though there are sites available for 6 nights or less, your search will come up empty.

✅You will save time by making sure you have your SpacetoCo account set up correctly and ready to go (ie complete all of your personal details, payment method, make sure your account has been verified). Although all this can be done after you commence your booking, the system will take longer to process your request compared to someone who has this set up.

✅Have the vehicle registration details for your car and camper trailer/caravan on hand as you will need to provide at the time of booking.

✅Research which sites are suitable beforehand on the SpacetoCo campground site to ensure you will fit. For return visitors to Mason Bay Campground, it is important you check the site map as the campground has been renumbered.

✅In case your favourite site is snapped up by someone else, have some additional preferences ready so you can quickly book your alternative choice.

✅Due to the VacSwim program, there will be limited availability from 5-16 January for caravan sites at Starvation Bay and you may want to consider staying at Mason Bay or selecting different dates.

✅Changes to your booking are permitted (subject to availability) but a small fee applies.

✅Only one accommodation type per site (eg caravan/camp trailer/campervan/tent etc) however some larger sites can accommodate two (conditions and fees apply).

✅As bookings open on a Saturday, make your booking carefully to avoid mistakes. Assistance is only available during Shire office hours (Mon-Fri 9am-4pm). If you book the wrong site and rebook a second site, you will not be able to get a refund for the first (however, you can request to change the dates to use at another time).

❌Bookings are not likely to be changeable due to availability during the peak period when the campgrounds are usually full. So please select carefully as bookings are non-refundable if unable to change.

❌Changes cannot be made outside of normal Shire office hours.
